"I am the Tiger - Theatre performance"

The seed of “I am the Tiger” was planted in January 2011 at Kanha National Park during the Artists for Tigers camp. Twenty artists came together from places as diverse as the Amazon to Australia. Shivani Wazir Pasrich was to do an Odissi recital and to weave in the relevance of Tigers in our lives. As she began her journey towards the forests the spirit of the Tiger took over and eventually she used not just Odissi but every language, form or art to express and unravel this magnificent being. The result was a performance that could not be forgotten. Hence in October 2011 the three pronged initiatives of ‘I am the Tiger” developed and the project was launched at the Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi. The main aim of the performance initiative is to raise awareness and garner support for the final phase of the project, where we aim to develop a full fledged musical called ‘Taqdeer the Tiger’. The idea is to create a platform of performance where our audiences not only see the Tiger but feel its surroundings as well.
